I can add up the numbers myself, but it would be convenient if the tally boards indicated the total number of votes cast by party. It would be a useful indicator of how mobilized the voting base of each party is.
So, in the end, about 2x as many republicans turned up in the primary as democrats. I wouldn’t expect equal numbers, but people keep talking about Texas turning into a purple state. This is not a good harbinger of things to come in the general.
