So far it looks like Sanders will have win big in rural counties. He is getting losing in Cook county (Chicago and inner suburbs). How DuPage county comes in (so far I am not seeing any reporting will be a somewhat usable weather vane as to whether or not Sanders can close the gap.
It is just abut 10:30pm ET, and if the numbers hold, Sen. Bernie Sanders looks to take the state of Illinois. I admit that I’m a little surprised, but in a good way. Even though I am a Hillary supporter, it is heartening to know there are many strong lefties in the heart of the nation’s bread basket. Kudos to Sen. Sanders and his team in Illinois. Illinois will play an important role this November, so a shout out to all those Democrats, centrists, independents, the progressives and lefties!
edit (at10:34pm) LOL! Well, that changed in just a few minutes! Now, HRC is on top by more than four points. There must have been a massive dump of fresh numbers in more centrist-leaning districts. Either way, it’s a good night for both Sanders and for Clinton!
CNN just called Illinois for Clinton by 2%.
