So this is how Dems run an anti-corruption platform?
While the game of swapping budget items for campaign donations has gotten a bevy of Republicans in hot water, Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) doesn’t seem to care. He gave a rousing embrace of the earmarking process on Friday, promising a crowd of 450 in Arlington County that if the Democrats take back the House and Moran grabs a chairmanship of an appropriations subcommittee, he would “earmark the shit out of it.”
“While he in theory might oppose the fiscal irresponsibility of ‘earmarks’,” the Arlington Sun Gazette reported, “he understands the value they have to constituents.”
