Live TV is hard.
During CNN’s live Super Tuesday coverage, anchor Wolf Blitzer gave a rundown on the numbers coming out of the Republican primary in Virginia, reminding viewers that it’s “still very early.”
But when Blitzer prepared to kick coverage back to his CNN colleagues Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, he didn’t quite nail the transition.
“Let’s go to Jake and, uh, and uh…” Blitzer ventured.
“Dana,” Bash offered helpfully.
“Dana Bash,” Tapper said.
Bash played it off with a laugh and said, “It’s too early to forget names, Wolf.”
“You’ve only known her for 20 years,” Tapper cracked.
Here’s video of the whole exchange, captured by TPM:
I’ve been there.
Yea—
When he starts to forget his own … then say something —
Glug, glug, glug, glug . . . .
Blitzer has been a train wreck (in purely on-air broadcast terms) for years. How this guy keeps his job is simply beyond me.
Retire already, retire!
