He’s no Henny Youngman.
Can’t wait for the Dowager Empress of South Carolina to comment on Trump’s mocking of a person’s Southern accent. Y’all.
This was probably a mistake by Trump as the base recognizes and appreciates Sessions as a fellow traveler down the river of racism. It also lends credence to previous reports of Trump mocking Sessions’ accent, which, of course, he had denied (lied about).
Further proof that rightwingers have no principles except for one. You can be a philanderer, a child molester, an aspiring dictator, an offensive foul-mouthed cretin, a tax cheat, a schoolyard bully, a serial liar, a fair-weather patriot, a con artist, a numbskulled idiot, a Nazi-KKK sympathizer, an appeaser, and a petty criminal…but as long as people with actual principles are pissed off at you for any reason, then you’re OK with the right and they’re more than willing to look the other way. That for them is the only abiding principle.
The politics of spite, writ large, every day.
Yup, and there was not wild applause or laughter when he said this. It went over like the proverbial lead balloon.
