Wal-Mart said in a statement yesterday that it “never lobbied” for changes to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, after several articles and two Democratic Congressmen drew attention to company officials’ presence on organizations that have been pushing to amend the anti-bribery law.
“Simply because Wal-Mart is a member of an organization does not mean we agree with every position they take,” spokesman David Tovar said in the statement, according to Reuters.
