Turkey Loses Contact With Aircraft Near Syrian Border

The BBC reports that Turkey has lost contact with a military aircraft near the Syrian border. The country’s media outlets claimed that the aircraft crashed into Syria’s territorial waters, but eyewitnesses near the crash said that Syrian air defenses shot down the aircraft in northern Syria.

A search-and-rescue mission is currently underway.
