Ryan promises a bold, election-year agenda of replacing the health care law and fighting poverty. Until then, it’s the BRICK Act. While GOP task forces are talking about national security, jobs and health care, the House floor has largely been turned over to the obscure and the arcane. Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump reached out to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to discuss the party’s agenda, Ryan confirmed Thursday morning.

Ryan said on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” that he’s “pleased” Trump reached out.

“We’re working on setting something up right now,” Ryan said. “I’m actually reaching out to each of the remaining candidates to walk them through what we call our agenda project so that they understand exactly what we’re doing and where we’re going in the House Republicans. We are working on getting something set up, over the next few days.”

Ryan said he would likely not meet in-person with Trump because of scheduling conflicts. The House speaker has yet to endorse a 2016 candidate and told the “Fox and Friends” hosts he will continue to stay neutral.

The gesture from Trump comes after Trump said during his Super Tuesday victory speech that Ryan would pay “a big price” if he didn’t cooperate with a hypothetical president Trump’s policies. Ryan also had criticized the real estate mogul for refusing to reject the Ku Klux Klan and noted white supremacist David Duke in a CNN interview.

  2. Nothing says I’m “pleased” you reached out quite like saying I’m too busy to meet in-person.

  3. Well, that didn’t take long. They’ll hate Trump right up until they work with him.

Sounds like Hide & Go Seek to me.
