Will there be more to come?
With hundreds of hours of TV airtime to his credit over more than three decades, Donald Trump is vulnerable to a drip, drip, drip of more revelations of crude and inappropriate behavior caught on camera, even if it falls short of the blockbuster Access Hollywood video unearthed last week.
The single greatest cache of Trump video may be from his years on The Apprentice, including video never before aired. Those outtakes are hard to come by because the show’s executive producer, Mark Burnett, has locked them down and warned he’ll sue anyone who leaks them.
But Burnett employed a transcription service for the show, and the transcripts sometimes included unaired material, including comments from Trump, the Huffington Post reported Monday.
A transcript from the taping of a 2010 episode of “The Apprentice” obtained by the Huffington Post shows Donald Trump criticizing a singer’s skin in an unaired moment.
In the episode, contestants were tasked with making over a country musician, and at one point Trump focused his attention in on singer Emily West and her skin.
“I assume you’re gonna leave this off, don’t put this shit on the show, you know. But her skin, her skin sucks, okay?” he says in the transcript, according to the Huffington Post. “I mean her skin, she needs some serious fuckin’ dermatology.”
Singer Cyndi Lauper, a guest judge on the show at the time, protested Trump’s comments and said that they used “dry stuff” on West’s skin, according to the Huffington Post. But Trump continued to criticize West’s skin.
“Fuck,” he said, according to the Huffington Post. “That’s Emily, that’s what I’m hearing about? Let me see the other one. I assume you’re not putting this on the show. ‘Cause I don’t wanna destroy the kid’s career.”
At another moment in the transcript, Trump said that singer Luke Bryan was more attractive than West.
“Personally, I am, as you probably heard, not a gay man, but I think he’s better looking that [sic] Emily okay?” Trump said, referring to Bryan, per the Huffington Post.
And when another judge praised the brochure produced to promote West, Trump said, “You’re obviously not a skin man,” according to the Huffington Post.
Lauper confirmed the transcript to the Huffington Post and said it accurately reflected Trump’s comments about West on the show.
“Of all people to talk about people’s skin!” she added. “What the hell is going on with his?”
A former staffer on “The Apprentice” told the Huffington Post that Trump would make comments about women when he thought he was not on camera.
Employees on the show had to sign a nondisclosure agreement keeping them from releasing footage of the show, and a copy of an NDA reviewed by the Huffington Post showed there is a $5 million penalty for discussing the show.
