After Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) was mugged in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 19, a pair of little bodyguards offered to protect her to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future. On Thursday evening, Meng posted a photo of her two young sons on Facebook along with a post describing how they volunteered to serve as her security detail.
“Boys offered to come to DC to prevent me from being mugged again,” Meng wrote.
Meng added that her son’s “sweet comment made me forget all of today’s misbehaving moments.” In a statement issued after the mugging, Meng described it as a “frightening ordeal,” but said she was “not seriously injured.”
