A spokesperson for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told TPM on Tuesday that the potential 2016 Republican contender supports vaccinations and that “his family is vaccinated.”

“Governor Walker believes vaccinations help prevent serious health problems,” spokesman Tom Evenson said in an email to TPM. “That’s why his family is vaccinated and he encourages others to do the same.”

Evenson did not say whether Walker believes parents should have a choice on whether their children get vaccinated.

The issue has become a focus of debate among potential 2016 contenders in recent days as a measles outbreak has spread across the nation.
