MSNBC reported Wednesday that signs point to the Rick Santorum campaign abandoning Florida before Tuesday’s primary.

Polls do not show Santorum doing well in the Sunshine State, but Santorum has said he intends to stay in the race and capitalize on his win in the Iowa caucuses. MSNBC reported Santorum has not scheduled any events beyond Thursday’s debate in Florida and said the candidate plans to go home to Pennsylvania to retrieve his tax returns off of his home computer. He’ll aslo attend a fundraiser in Virginia.

Via text message, I asked Santorum spokesperson Matt Beynon if the rumors his boss is bailing on Florida were true.

“No,” was Beynon’s one-word reply.
