Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said Tuesday at a campaign event in San Diego that he was predicting “a couple” of wins in the primaries and caucuses of the night.
The Arizona primary was predicted to go to presidential candidate Hillary Clinton right before Sanders started speaking. Other contests that weren’t called yet by the time Sanders took the stage was the Idaho and Utah caucuses.
“We talked about the need for millions of people to become involved in the political process,” Sanders said. “Tonight in Utah, tonight in Idaho and tonight in Arizona, there are record-breaking turnouts in terms of voters.”
Sanders suggested that his campaign has created a “political revolution” and that nobody, including the media, believed he’d be able to do it.
“Well, 10 months later we have now won 10 primaries and caucus, and unless I’m very mistaken, we’re going to win a couple of more tonight,” Sanders continued.
The rot that infected the Republican party has spread to the Democratic party. It’s like if you’re leaning into the wind and the wind stops suddenly, you fall over. I’ve never seen an election with so many people expressing contempt for the Democratic process, yet call themselves “Democrats”.
Bernie could be the cure for this rot, but so many people with “first woman president” stars in their eyes they are blind to all issues, including cheating and fixed elections. So maybe this is the year we burn it all down.
