Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told NJ.com on Wednesday that he thought it was an “excellent idea” to put electronic tags on Muslims who appear on the nation’s terrorist watch list to track their whereabouts.

“I would think that’s an excellent idea,” Giuliani told the publication. “If you’re on the terror watch list, I should you know [sic] you’re on the terror watch list. You’re on there for a reason.”

Giuliani, who advises Trump on terrorism, boasted that, as mayor, he put undercover agents in New York City mosques, according to the report.

He also defended comments Donald Trump had made earlier in the day urging Russia to Hillary Clinton’s “missing” private emails if the country possessed them.

Giuliani told reporters he was sure Trump was simply referring to Russia releasing the emails to the FBI for investigation.
