Buzzfeed’s Rosie Gray paid a visit this week to the conservative news outlet that employs the reporter who degraded her on Twitter.

As a guest on a podcast hosted by The Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis, Gray discussed the tweets sent out and promptly deleted by Patrick Howley.

Howley remains employed at The Daily Caller, although he no longer has a presence on Twitter. He and his boss Tucker Carlson apologized to Gray shortly after the tweets were published, and Carlson later told TPM the mea culpa was enough.

After referring to the “ordeal” at the top of the podcast, Lewis eventually addressed the elephant in the room midway through, thanking Gray for going to The Daily Caller’s studios even after the flap with Howley. Lewis then wondered if there was a rivalry between the outlets.

“What is the Buzzfeed-Daily Caller thing? How are we viewed?” Lewis asked. “Is there like an East Coast-West Coast thing, or is this a one-time thing?”

Gray responded by saying that Buzzfeed has no beef with Carlson’s shop before shrugging off Howley’s tweets.

“No, I think we like you guys. You know, I’m generally pro-Daily Caller. In terms of the Howley thing, obviously I was like — I was shocked, but at the same time I was also just sort of, like you know, I knew that no one was going to possibly defend what he was saying and people really supported me during that moment. You know, it’s all over now, so there’s no reason to even talk about it. But you know, Daily Caller, you guys do solid stuff. I always like to read Betsy [Rothstein]. I always like to read your stuff, Matt.”

TPM emailed Gray on Wednesday to ask about the reception she received at The Daily Caller offices.

“Nothing to report,” she replied. “Matt’s a great guy and it was fun to do his podcast and fun to see the Caller’s famous in-office bar!”

The question about Howley’s tweets comes around the 15:15 mark:
