Federal officeholders are required to either disclose all their investments and financial holdings or put them in a blind trust. Romney opted for the trust. But ABC reports that where Romney invests his money might not be unknown to the candidate, as he claims, because of close ties between Romney the lawyer who runs his trust: personal lawyer and longtime associate Bradford Malt.
