Companies owned by real estate mogul Donald Trump, who predicted in his presidential announcement speech that he’ll “be the greatest jobs President that God ever created,” have reportedly sought to secure visas for more than 1,100 foreign workers since 2000.

Reuters reported late Friday on Trump’s hiring practices, citing data from the U.S. Department of Labor. The report noted that Trump entities have sought the greatest number of workers through the H2-B temporary visa program, which mainly brings in workers from Mexico.

Job creation and tougher immigration controls have been cornerstones of Trump’s 2016 campaign. At his campaign launch, the billionaire pledged to “bring back our jobs from China, from Mexico, from Japan, from so many places.” He also infamously disparaged immigrants crossing the U.S. border with Mexico as “rapists” and drug dealers (although later, Trump said he employs “so many Latinos, I have so many people working for me. The Latinos love Trump, and I Iove them.”) Those positions have led Trump to the top of the polls ahead of Thursday’s first Republican primary debate.

It’s not clear from the Reuters report how many workers Trump’s companies may have brought in from Mexico.

The Trump entity that has imported the most foreign workers is the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, which has sought 787 workers since 2006 to serve as cooks and cleaners, according to Reuters. Reuters reported that Trump Model Management and Trump Management Group LLC have also sought to bring in nearly 250 foreign fashion models.

Trump’s presidential campaign, as well as one of his attorneys, declined to comment to Reuters.
