Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on Monday took to the Senate floor to deliver a three-minute rant against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for supporting Donald Trump despite his “racist” attacks on a federal judge’s Mexican heritage.
“After Donald Trump’s latest attack on the judiciary, does he truly believe that Trump is the right man to pick nominees to our nation’s highest court?” Reid asked.
“I asked the senator from Kentucky, is it fine that Donald Trump calls women pigs and dogs?” he went on. “Is it fine when Trump calls immigrants rapists and murderers? Is it fine that his party’s presidential candidate urges violence at rallies? These are not rhetorical questions. The Republican leader has so fully embraced Donald Trump that we are all unclear as to where Trump’s platform ends and the senate Republicans’ begins.”
Reid pointed out that McConnell, who last week said Trump “will be fine” as president, declined to answer whether Trump’s attacks on the heritage of Indiana-born U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel were racist. Instead, McConnell said three times that he “couldn’t disagree more” with Trump’s comments.
The minority leader also took issue with McConnell saying in a recent interview that the GOP was “at an all-time high,” despite having a presumptive presidential nominee that Reid said “stands for hatred and stands for division.”
“The nation has a right to know how far Senate Republicans’ support ends and that starts with the Republican leader,” Reid said. “Because now there doesn’t appear to be any daylight between Donald Trump and Senator McConnell.”

McConnell, like most of his peers, is pretty much a spineless piece of crap. They claim to have such high morals but have no problem sucking up to a man who is on his third wife (and has a kid out of matrimony).
