Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) dismissed Thursday the notion of negotiations with House Republicans before the federal government reopens.
“Not gonna happen,” Reid said in response to a reporter’s question after Senate Democrats met with President Obama.
The House GOP’s proposal for a temporary debt-limit increase doesn’t address the government shutdown, but asks for budget negotiations with the Senate.
