White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus accused the media of “attempts to delegitimize this president” and vowed opposition in an interview Sunday.

“We’re not going to sit around and take it,” Priebus said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“The point is not the crowd size,” he said. “The point is the attacks and the attempts to delegitimize this president in one day.”

Priebus accused the media of having an “obsession” with undermining Trump’s legitimacy and vowed to fight “tooth and nail every day, and twice on Sunday.”

“We’re not going to sit around and let it happen,” he said.

On Saturday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday accused the media of “deliberately false reporting” with regard to attendance estimates and photos of the crowd at President Donald Trump’s inauguration. He cited attendance numbers which contradicted those reported by the D.C. metro authority.

Senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway defended Spicer’s contradictory numbers on Sunday, saying that he was not lying but rather offering “alternative facts.”
