Poll Shows Jackson Jr. Up Big In Re-Election Race

A poll conducted Sunday by We Ask America shows Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) 31 points ahead of his Republican challenger, Brian Woodworth. The automatic survey of 819 likely voters put Jackson Jr. at 58 percent and Woodworth at 27 percent, with a 3.5 point margin of error.

Jackson Jr. went on a medical leave from Congress in June, and spent the summer being treated for bipolar disorder. He has yet to return to work. Earlier this month, reports said allegations that Jackson Jr. misused campaign funds to decorate his home were the focus of a federal criminal probe.
