White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced on Tuesday that President Donald Trump has accepted House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) invitation to address a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28.

“As you may have heard, Speaker Ryan extended an invitation to the president to address a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28,” Spicer told reporters at his daily press briefing. “I’m pleased to inform you that the president has accepted that invitation.”

“I have a feeling by the time we get to Feb. 28, we will have a lot to talk about,” he added.

Ryan described the invitation in his weekly remarks on Tuesday morning as “an opportunity for the people and their representatives to hear directly from our new president about his vision and our shared agenda.”
