President Obama will deliver a statement from the White House briefing room on Friday at 11:35am ET. Obama huddled with top Congressional leaders earlier Friday in hopes of reaching a deal on sequestration, automatic budget cuts set to take effect by 11:59pm ET today. The meeting began at 10:18am ET, per a White House official, with Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in attendance.
