President Obama announced a new gun violence taskforce on Wednesday in the wake of the Newtown, Conn. elementary school shooting, saying the country had a moral obligation to take action.
“If there is even one thing we can do to prevent any of these events, we have a deep obligation – all of us – to try,” Obama said at the White House.
“This time the words need to lead to action,” Obama added.
