With the United States withdrawing from two wars and Capitol Hill setting its sights on immigration reform, some of the biggest military contractors in the country are looking to capitalize on efforts to tighten security on the Mexican border, according to a report published online Thursday in the New York Times.
The Times reported that contractors such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics will descend upon the southwestern U.S. this summer to show off their military-grade radar and long-range camera systems in the hopes of winning a potentially $1 billion contract from the Department of Homeland Security.
