The National Republican Senatorial Committee has begun work to avoid the missteps that derailed the campaigns of Todd Akin in Missouri and Richard Mourdock in Indiana, Roll Call reported Monday. NRSC executive director Rob Collins told Roll Call that the committee is boosting its press efforts, both in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere, in an effort to respond to the media when a candidate fumbles.
