Nike has decided to cut its ties with Ray Rice about a day after the Baltimore Ravens cut him from the teamand the National Football League indefinitely suspended him. The moves came after TMZ released a graphic a video allegedly depicting him punching his wife unconscious in a hotel elevator.
CBS News, Reuters, and ESPN reported Tuesday that Nike Inc. had decided to cut its ties with Rice. Rice previously had an “active deal” with Nike, according to ESPN. In January Nike featured Rice in unveiling its Super Bowl cold-weather gear
ESPN also reported that EA Sports has decided to pull Rice from Madden NFL 15.
“With Ray Rice’s indefinite suspension from the NFL, he will be removed from ‘Madden NFL 15,'” EA Sports communications director Julie Foster said according to ESPN. “This roster change will take place by this Friday.”
On Tuesday Rice decided to break his silence about the video and said that he and his family are in “good spirits.”

Unlike a person, Nike cannot express it’s shock except through the humanizing device of a spokesperson nor can it offer a prayer but since many abusers wear their products while abusing I would think a large sum of money devoted to abuse awareness education and support would be another humanizing corporate gesture.
