In his first public comments since the release of video footage reportedly showing him knocking his wife unconscious inside a hotel elevator, Ray Rice said Tuesday that he and his family are in “good spirits.”
Rice, who was let go by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL after the graphic footage surfaced on Monday, told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that he and his wife, Janay Rice, will “continue to support each other.”

Janay Rice also broke her silence on Tuesday, taking to Instagram to defend her husband and criticize the media for putting her through a “horrible nightmare” since the video emerged.
Not concerned about his breaking his silence. More concerned about him breaking her jaw.
As to his referencing the people “praying” for them? That’s always the last refuge. “I have sinned against you my Lord!”
From reading her statement it’s pretty damn clear she’s not “in good spirits”. Not at all.
…but ByGAwd and PatRobertson, she deserved more than she got!
I’m torn. Not about him, but about her. So not only is she a victim, she gets to be victim shamed a bunch, too, and very publicly.
The comments like (not here specifically) like, “Look at her, what’s she doing with him, what’s her problem, obviously no self esteem, only puts up with it for the money”…
From CNN:
“Janay Rice says “no one knows the pain that the media” has caused her family.”
What about the pain Ray Rice has caused her?
