Newt: Obama Shouldn’t Take Salary This Year

In Iowa Monday, Newt Gingrich went after President Obama over a New York Times report that the White House plans to abandon hope of passing significant legislation in 2012 after a payroll tax extension and instead run against Congressional Republicans.

“He’s going to be a candidate for an entire year,” Gingrich said, adding that he therefore “shouldn’t take his salary.”
