USA Today reports that Newt Gingrich’s first ad in Iowa goes up Monday. The Gingrich campaign bought $225,000 in air time for the ad, which is tantamount to the $265,000 Mitt Romney will spend on TV air time this week in both Iowa and New Hampshire. The new ad buy is a sign of Gingrich’s growing war chest.
Gingrich is currently leading the pack with 25% in Iowa, according to the latest Des Moines Register poll.
