The Mississippi Senate race between Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MI) and Democratic challenger Mike Espy will advance to a runoff on November 27, with neither candidate reaching the 50 percent threshold, NBC News projected.
Chris McDaniel, a firebrand Republican state senator, came in third and got almost 17 percent of the vote. He will not participate in the runoff, leaving Hyde-Smith the clear favorite.
Uhh, I’m sure you didn’t mean Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith “(R-MI),” but rather “(R-MS).”
Beat me to it.
I came here to say that, too. How odd that a Republican Senator from Michigan (MI) would be in a runoff race in Mississippi (MS).
