In an ongoing attempt to keep his presidential bid relevant, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) called for House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) gavel if Ryan didn’t stop the relocation of refugees to the U.S.
About a dozen Republican governors and lawmakers called for the end of Syrian refugee resettlement programs on Monday in reaction to the attacks that killed more than 100 people in Paris.
Huckabee tweeted Monday:
If @SpeakerRyan will not lead & reject the importation of those fleeing the Middle East he needs to step down today & let someone else lead.

Ryan was sworn on Oct. 29 after a contentious race for speaker in which conservatives tried to keep an establishment Republican out of the seat.
