Nevada state Assemblywoman Michele Fiore (R)

Last month, Michele Fiore was front and center in negotiations that led to the end of a 40-day standoff at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge in Oregon.

Now, the gun-calendar making grandma has announced she is officially filing paperwork to run for Congress from Nevada.

“I invite you to join me this Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway on the first floor in the Pubelo room as I file the paperwork to become your next Congresswoman,” Fiore announced on her website Tuesday.

Fiore, a conservative Nevada state lawmaker who has become well known in national media for both her gun-adorned holiday cards and her bold proclamations that she would personally shoot refugees, is seeking to represent the state’s Third congressional district.

Fiore also announced Tuesday that she would “kick off the campaign with a ‘bang’ Saturday March 26 at the Pro Gun Club.” She will also be raffling off a Kalashnikov rifle she built herself.

“Raffle tickets will be $250 or you can purchase 30 round magazines for $30 and shoot some fun guns with me!” Fiore wrote to supporters.

In Nevada, Fiore has been an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment, filing a bill that allowed individuals to carry guns on high school, college and even elementary school campuses.
