Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto again refuted Trump’s repeated claims that he will build a border wall at Mexico’s expense on Thursday, tweeting at the GOP nominee this time that “Mexico never would pay for a wall.”

Peña Nieto was unequivocal in his denial, which was written in Spanish: “I repeat what I said to you personally, Mr Trump: Mexico never would pay for a wall.”

Hours after a meeting with Peña Nieto on Wednesday, during which Trump claimed they “didn’t discuss” payment for his proposed border wall, the GOP candidate insisted in a speech in Arizona that “Mexico will pay for the wall, 100 percent. They don’t know it yet, but they’re going to pay for it.”

Peña Nieto then published an op-ed Thursday morning in a Mexican newspaper insisting that he had been “very clear” with Trump about doing no such thing.

“In my conversation with Trump about the border, I was also very clear: Mexico will not pay for any wall,” he wrote in Spanish.

  1. I want to hear the tape
Mr Pena Nieto, you must reveal the tape of the meeting and bring forward witnesses to what was said. Show trump for the liar that he is. It will help you and us. Trump must be defeated.

  2. It just gets better and better…

File under “things I should have, would have, could have said in real time.”

  4. If the guy hadn’t been so dumb as to issue the invitation, he wouldn’t be caught in this.

Hard to tell if he’s making enough brownie points through this repetition to make up for the idiocy of receiving Donnie and treating him like a VIP.

I’d almost feel sorry for him, except he started it.
