McCotter Drops Out Of 2012 GOP Presidential Race

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) is dropping his somewhat quixotic presidential ambitions. He signed up shortly before the Iowa Ames Straw Poll and managed to garner just over 30 votes. He’s been noticeably absent from the GOP debates since then, even as Fox has given stage-space to low-polling rivals such as former NM Gov. Gary Johnson.

McCotter says he’s likely to run again for his House seat.

Primary-wise, he says he’s throwing his support behind Mitt Romney.
