Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Tuesday jokingly suggested that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will employ a so-called enhanced interrogation technique when Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), the nominee to be the next secretary of state, appears before the panel this week.
“We will look forward to interrogating him at his hearing next week, mercilessly,” McCain, quoted by Politico, said to laughs at a press conference. “We will bring back for the only time waterboarding to get the truth out of him.”
Kerry’s confirmation hearing before the committee will be on Thursday.
