Thomas Massie beat Alecia Webb-Edgington for the Republican nomination for Congressional seat in Kentucky’s 4th District. With 74 percent of precincts reporting, Massie led 45 percent to 29 percent. Massie was backed by tea party Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and and Mike Lee of Utah while Webb-Edgington, the establishment pick, had the support of former Kentucky Sen. Jim Bunning, who once held the 4th District seat, and Republican Rep. Geoff Davis, whose retirement makes this an open seat. The district is leans strongly Republican.
