Doors closed at the Kentucky GOP caucuses at 5 p.m. ET and at the Maine GOP caucuses at 7 p.m. ET, but as 8 p.m. ET approached, multiple networks were reporting those races were still too early to call.

It’s always a weird experience to set your eyes upon them.
Talked to a friend who went to caucus today here in KY. Didn’t sound much like a real caucus to me. Basically got a postcard to check off and put in a box, nothing like what Iowa does. News around here is, R’s are pissed off about all this and blaming Rand for the cluster-f. And KY Rep Party getting all kinds of flack for the change and not handling it well. Absentee ballots not sent out in time, caucus sites spread out and not enough locations and not enough info sent out by the party to inform voters and a host of other complaints. It will be interesting to see how much this hurts Rand in his re-election. Friend told me that there was a whole lot of complaining and blaming Rand for this mess.
Oh, did they just switch over to a caucus format? And was Rand behind the change?

OH yea, he convinced the party to do it so he could run for Senate and President at the same time. Couldn’t do it because Ky constitution wouldn’t allow it so he convinced the R party to change to caucus to get around the law. He was to help pay for it by giving them $500,000 from his campaign money but he’s only ponied up $250,00 so far.
