Larry Wilmore had to pause Tuesday’s “Nightly Show” so he could let out his frustrations about American gun violence in the show’s soundproof Despair Booth.

The cause? A Washington Post report that says, “roughly once a week this year, on average, a small child has found a gun, pointed it at himself or someone else, and pulled the trigger.”

“You have to be fucking kidding me,” Wilmore said.

Contributor Mike Yard said Wilmore previously used the booth when the Los Angeles Dodgers lost. When Wilmore returned, he had one question.

“I have to ask one question to the NRA, gun activists and anyone on Capitol Hill standing in the way of gun reform: So what’s next?” Wilmore asked.

Maybe we send toddlers to a gun safety class, Wilmore suggested.

“Maybe call it Gunboree!” Wilmore said. “They can sing songs like ‘Old McDonald Had A Glock’ (or) ‘If You’re Happy And You Know It Pop A Cap’!”
