Yes, the Democratic debate was “a little boring,” but on Wednesday’s “Nightly Show,” host Larry Wilmore made the case for a policy-focused debate.

“Was the debate itself a little boring? Yeah… Did it have all the fireworks and talk of selling dead body parts and overt racism and full-blown homophobia of the other debate? No,” Wilmore said.

But it’s still an important part of the democratic process.

“Did I simultaneously watch the Dodgers game? Yes,” Wilmore said. “But the point is we have these debates to determine who is the best person to lead the free world — not to find the best Entertainer In Chief. If that was the case, I’d vote for Cedric The. He’s an entertainer.”
