A police officer in Wisconsin accidentally shot a 52-year-old woman with a stun gun and then his gun on Thursday while trying to subdue the dog that attacked her.
The woman from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was shot in the foot by the officer and bitten in the leg by the English bulldog, according to WTMJ.
A 30-year-old woman was also bitten, according to the television station.
The 16-month-old dog, Tank, was killed after the officer used his gun after initially using his stun gun, the station reported. It was unclear if the officer or Tank’s owner will face charges.
Watch the video, from WTMJ, below:
Man, that was a bad day at the office.
Seriously, though, I feel bad for the woman, and the officer. It sounds like a scary and chaotic situation.
The idiot should have lifted the dog off the ground by its hind legs and it would have let go.I guess cops don’t receive training on dealing with dogs?
EDIT: OK, I just watched the video and the dog wasn’t biting the woman when the officer fired. It sounds like a bad day for everyone involved.
Any more than they get for dealing with the mentally ill and racial minorities?
Either what you said or close and use a baton on the dog’s nose. I know guns seem so…manly…but the reality is that they are horribly inaccurate (rifles are less inaccurate, but still not 100% accurate)…what was it that Obi-Wan Kenobi said…“clumsy and random”…pistols are problematic unless you empty out the clip.
I’m rambling a bit.
They frequently don’t receive adequate training on how not to shoot people, so …
I’ve never heard of that. And as someone with tooth shaped scars on my leg, it might have been useful knowledge.
