This is how you can tell real life from movies.
In the movies, it’s the decent, upstanding citizen, fighting against a corrupt system that vows they will not withdraw, no matter what the personal cost.
In real life, unqualified liars and cheaters hang on to their unearned privilege and vow not to withdraw.
If I were the scriptwriter, the music would be swelling - lots of violins with an underscore of strong cello as the inquisitors each look into their dark souls, drop their heads - Close ups of each of their faces - flashes of memory quick cuts - a little boy and a dog romping in the back yard - a little boy running into the waves at the beach - a little boy getting a pat on the head from his father -
then each man rising and saying “This candidate is unfit for the office. Hearing adjourned.”
I wouldn’t trust Kavanaugh to umpire a little league game.
