The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday released the opening remarks that Brett Kavanaugh intends to make during the hearing on Thursday. In the prepared statement, he plans to call the allegations of sexual misconduct levied against him in recent days “grotesque and obvious character assassination.”

The remarks were reportedly posted around the same time that new, shocking allegations by a third woman were made public on Wednesday afternoon.

You know what’s really grotesque? Having a sexual predator on the Supreme Court making decisions about women and our health and safety. That’s grotesque, Bret.

If Brett had gone the contrition route, admitted to some mistakes, pleaded youthful indiscretion, this would all be over and he would be on the court today.

But being a belligerent asshole is one of his defining features.

Character assassination perpetrated by a young Brett Kavanaugh about 35 years ago, and grotesque is correct.
