Avid Rush Limbaugh listeners may have heard a familiar line during the debate last night. Gov. Gary Johnson got the most laughs of the evening when he joked that his “next-door neighbor’s two dogs have created more shovel-ready jobs than this current administration.”
It turns out that Limbaugh used almost the exact same quip recently on his radio show.
When asked about the one-liner by the Huffington Post, Johnson claimed ingorance, saying he got the line from Jim Villanucci, a comedy writer and radio host. It now appears that both men may have cribbed from elsewhere; the joke has apparently been making its way around tea party circles lately.
