John Oliver, a veteran of more than seven years on Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show,’ gave a tearful goodbye on Thursday night as he departs to lead his own comedy production on HBO.

Jon Stewart and Co. gave him a sendoff that included highlights from his work on the show as well as numerous field interviews.
