Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) weighed in on the vaccination debate Tuesday.
“I don’t know that we need another law, but I do believe all children ought to be vaccinated,” he told reporters.
Despite an absence of scientific evidence, some Republican presidential hopefuls — including Gov. Chris Christie (NJ) and Sen. Rand Paul (KY) — have given some credence to the notion of a link between vaccines and autism.
“All kids should be vaccinated, but it should be voluntary.” It’s the new “I’m not a scientist.” Carefully calculated to enable MSM’s to hear what they choose to hear while sending a supportive dog whistle to the historically illiterate hipster douchenozzles, the special snowflakes and the batshit crazy theocrats living in their own private Republic of Gilead.
I’d like this a thousand times if I could.
The laws are already there, the problem is legislatures allowing for “parental interpretation” of those laws because the GOP has instilled a distrust in government for the past 35 years.
A couple of weeks ago, Congress was arguing about whether climate change is real; now we’re debating about vaccination. Cuz WE’RE NUMBER 1!!! USA! USA! USA!
How do you lead when you are only interested in telling people the things you think they want to hear?
Real leadership consists in delivering inconvenient and often unpleasant truths to people who are confused or making all the wrong moves and desperately need guidance. Leadership is helping you to make your peace with reality, not selling you the pie in the sky that you hunger for.
