Vice President Joe Biden stepped up U.S. rhetoric Tuesday over a devastating chemical weapons attack last week in Syria, claiming there was “no doubt” the Assad regime was the perpetrator.
“The president believes and I believe that those who use chemical weapons against defenseless men, women and children should and must be held accountable,” Biden told attendees at the American Legion National Convention in Houston, Texas.
President Barack Obama has reportedly not yet made a decision whether to intervene militarily in the conflict, though he is weighing options presented by the Pentagon.
