Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Sunday that he supports closing tax loopholes, which Democrats and President Obama have been pushing for as part of what they call a balanced plan to avoid sequestration.
Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Jindal added that he wanted to use those extra revenues to bring down tax rates rather than pay for government programs or put the money toward deficit reduction.
“I’m for closing those loopholes, by the way,” Jindal said. “Let’s use those revenues to lower tax rates so we can grow the economy.”
Jindal also said he is not for closing the loopholes as part of a deal to avoid sequestration, saying “there’s never enough revenues, never enough taxes for this administration.”
