Exactly two weeks after “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart announced that he’d be leaving Comedy Central, longtime correspondent Jason Jones shared the news on Twitter that he was leaving the program as well.
For 9 & 1/2 years, I have worked at one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
But…
It is time for me to go.

Jones made the announcement after TBS confirmed that it ordered 10 episodes of an unnamed comedy series he’ll star in. The series’ pilot episode was written and executive produced by Jones and his wife, fellow “The Daily Show” correspondent Samantha Bee, according to Variety.
Bee hasn’t commented on the news, so it’s unclear whether she’ll stick with her duties at “The Daily Show” while serving as an executive producer on the new series.
