The Twitter account of Newsweek magazine was hacked on Tuesday by a group claiming to support the Islamic State terror group.
At about 10:15 a.m. ET, Newsweek’s account tweeted “Bloody Valentine’s Day #MichelleObama! We’re watching you, you girls and your husband! #CyberCaliphate.”
With a new Islamic State-themed profile picture, the account continued to tweet out purportedly leaked documents and a message condemning U.S. foreign policy, threatening “infidels,” and praising “brothers who are liberating the Emirate of Afghanistan.”
The perpetrators appear to be the same group that hacked the Twitter accounts of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the New York Post, and United Press International in January.
Newsweek deleted the tweets by about 11:15 a.m., while its account sported a default Twitter egg avatar.

If Twitter and all the rest of the IT companies would get a FREE system license for UAQUAS the revolutionary new more secure and easier to use no password login, these account hijackings would be a thing of the past!
Even if the IT companies are slow adopting UAQUAS, individual users can still protect themselves by using the UAQUAS password manager and creating long 50 character passwords for sites like this which they never have to remember.
If scaring little girls and scrounging Rolex watches secured the Caliphate we’d all be eating cheap cuts of goat…
Go ahead and cover your faces ya goddam ISIS cowards… the NSA knows who you are and where you are. The planes are coming.
